I love crafting. Always have.
Ask my husband – give me a DIY project and I am one happy camper. Unless that includes hanging window hardware. Window hardware = not happy camper.
But! I've always had the "I can do that!" mentality when it comes to home decor items, clothing, redecorating ideas, and painting. Sometimes, I'd rather take the long way around a project and finish knowing that it was 100% executed and completed by me. Crazy, I know.
Before I owned a sewing machine(my first one being gifted to me from my husband when I was 22 years old) I really enjoyed sewing. . . by hand. It was always a very long process but one that I feel taught me a lot about sewing technique. I remember always saying "If I had a sewing machine…this project would so be finished by now!"
I completed several projects without the use of a sewing machine including patchwork skirts, way too many pillow coverings, Christmas stockings, and curtains. I no longer recommend sewing curtains WITHOUT a sewing machine! Duh.
All that being said, I consider myself to be a crafty person. Life after a sewing machine drastically changed my DIY projects. I successfully sewed a quilt(s). AND…it's totally useable. It's not just pretty decoration on my couch. I use it for warmth!
It's more than just sewing, though. I love my glue gun, too. I once used a glue gun so much while creating a wreath that it literally caught fire in my kitchen. Small fire. But a fire is a fire people! No damages, for which I am so thankful.
I enjoy creating and gifting cute handmade things to friends and family. I really enjoy that. Lately, my creative juices have been flowing quite quickly with the announcement and arrival of so many babies! Crafting and gifting handmade items is the perfect gift in my opinion. I LOVE when someone gifts me something handmade – I'm sure others appreciate the sentiment as well.
Easily and simply put – crafting and diy-ing are two of my absolute favorite things.
Roughly a year ago, husband and I began tossing around the idea of the possibility of me starting my own online store. Do you like how I wrote "tossing around the idea" and "of the possibility"? Seriously, that's all I would let it be. My dear husband has been nothing but 100% supportive of this new idea. My reservations surrounding the possibility were sort of all over the place – What would I call my store? What would I sell in my store? If I choose to sell items, what items do I feel the most confident with? What do other people like? – there were just SO many questions.
Fast foward. Here we are roughly a year later. I've decided to open a crafty online shop!
THERE WILL BE AN ANNOUNCEMENT COMING SOON – VERY SOON!
I'm not sure who is more excited – myself or my husband who has very patiently encouraged me to take the plunge. Stay tuned.
And just because I like to share here's a little peek…

Ahhh! I'm so excited.
